Kevin's
technical background goes back to when he was a young boy. His fascination
with gadgets is common knowledge to anyone that knows him. Early in
his life he began tinkering with high-tech toys in his home studio
and continues to utilize the newest products available for his audio/visual
and information technology-based productions.
Not
only was Kevin a record producer for many years, but he was also a
recording engineer that thrived on being the first kid on the block
with the newest gear.
In
his studio at Art-Tec, Kevin continually added new equipment and dealt
with the learning curves in-between recording sessions. His studio
boasted several 'firsts' in Ontario. It was one of the first studios
to incorporate computers for music, digital audio tape, hard-disk
audio recording, cd burning, etc.
Always
on the cutting-edge, Kevin owns several computers, digital audio and
video equipment and the latest in computer software.
Kevin
has also taught many students over the years on the use of high-tech
equipment and continues to enjoy informing people of the possibilities.
Under
contract with the School Boards of Ontario, Kevin helped to develop
the 'broad-based technology' curriculum. He also designed one of the
first high school communications departments in Ontario. This project
involved the installation of complete audio, video and graphic departments
and the training of the high school teachers in the use of the equipment.
Kevin
also spent several years as a software, alpha and beta tester for
companies in the United States. Through this, he also became the Canadian
representative and specialist on the Micro Sound multi-track hard
disk audio workstation. This led to demonstrations at trade shows
and training of staff in many studios, video suites and radio stations,
including the CBC.
